The special is specifically separated from season three and season four, likely taking place between the two or in a non-canonical timeline altogether. “The special will feature Harley and Ivy celebrating their very first Valentine’s Day together, while also revealing how the rest of the ragtag crew spends the gushiest, mushiest, most romantic day of the year.”

It is not known why.The official synopsis for the special is as follows:

When Mother gives Junie B a bath that night and Junie B was playing with the bubbles which made her look like a bride in a veil. She tells her parents about it but they say she's too young to have a boyfriend and she's at the age where she should be 'footloose and fancy free' meaning she can run and play with whoever, but Junie B claims she's a grown up lady. Junie B's boyfriend Ricardo dumps Junie B and she is devastated. So, Aunt Flo makes Junie B the alternate. However, the groom's sister was chosen to be the flower girl. Aunt Flo is having a wedding and Junie B wants to be the flower girl to prove she's a grown-up lady.
